Services
Branding and marketing services, built for small business scale
Eight productized services covering the brand side (strategy, naming, identity, logo) and the marketing side (SEO, content, social, email). Every one is fixed-scope, priced upfront, and delivered remotely to small businesses and startups worldwide.
KM Studio offers eight branding and marketing services for small businesses: brand strategy, business naming, brand identity design, and logo design on the brand side; SEO, content marketing, social media marketing, and email marketing on the growth side. Each is a fixed-scope package with the deliverables and price stated before work begins, delivered fully remotely.
Two things separate this page from the average agency services list. First, the sequence is explicit: strategy and naming come before identity and logo, and the brand work comes before the marketing that distributes it. Second, every service links to a page that tells you exactly what you get, what it will not do, and when you should not buy it at all.
Brand services
Build the brand: strategy, name, identity, logo
These four run in a deliberate order. Strategy decides the position, naming makes it pronounceable, identity and logo make it visible. Buy them in that sequence and nothing gets designed twice.
Brand identity design
Logo system, palette, typography, and a brand guideline you will actually use. Productized scope, stated upfront.
Logo design
Strategy-led original concepts, a complete file package, and full ownership rights. No contest sites, no recycled marks.
Brand strategy
Positioning, audience profiles, and messaging, settled and written down before you spend on a name, a logo, or a campaign.
Business naming
Strategy-led shortlists, USPTO knockout screening, and domain checks, so you pick a name you can defend.
Marketing services
Grow the brand: SEO, content, social, email
The marketing services distribute the position the brand work established. All four run on fixed monthly scopes with plain-language reporting, and your accounts, lists, and platforms stay in your name from day one.
SEO
Technical fixes, keyword research, on-page work and content on a fixed monthly scope. No ranking guarantees, your accounts stay yours.
Content marketing
Strategy, SEO-driven writing, and repurposing across email and social. Fixed scope, no bloated retainers.
Social media marketing
Strategy, content, scheduling, and reporting in one package. No lock-in retainers, no vanity-metric theatre.
Email marketing
Done-for-you strategy, flows, campaigns, and list growth, run on the platform you already own.
Process
How engagements work here
- 1
Fit-check consultation
A short call where we hear what you need and tell you honestly whether we are the right fit, which service to start with, or whether our free guides will serve you better than an invoice.
- 2
Fixed-scope proposal
You receive a written proposal listing the exact deliverables, the number of calls and review rounds, the timeline, and the price. Nothing starts until you have seen all four.
- 3
Remote delivery with visible reasoning
We work async across time zones: structured questionnaires, scheduled video calls, and drafts that show the reasoning behind each choice so review rounds argue substance, not taste.
- 4
Handoff you own outright
Every engagement ends with files, documents, and accounts in your hands. No hostage-holding, no lock-in; the deliverables keep working after we are gone.
The same four steps apply to every service on this page. The longer version, including our standards for tools, review rounds, and what happens when something goes wrong, is documented on the how we work page.

What our services cost
Fixed scope, stated price, no meter running
Every service is productized: a defined deliverables list, a defined number of calls and review rounds, and a price you see in the proposal before you commit. There is no hourly billing and no open-ended retainer, because scope creep is a pricing model, not an accident.
The full package breakdown for each service, including what each tier includes and where the tiers differ, lives on our pricing page. If you are still weighing a studio against a solo hire, read the agency vs freelancer comparison first.
How pricing works here
Fixed scope: deliverables listed in writing.
Fixed price: stated before work starts.
No lock-in: monthly services cancel cleanly; you keep everything.
Fit check
Who these services are for (and who they are not)
Good fit
Small businesses and startups
You have paying customers or real launch stakes, a defined budget, and you want fixed-scope work delivered remotely rather than a big-agency retainer.
Good fit
Founders who want the reasoning
You want to see why each positioning, design, or channel choice was made, not receive a big reveal. Our process shows its work at every step.
Not for
Enterprise programs
Multi-brand architecture, global campaign management, and board-level brand valuation are enterprise-consultancy work. We will say so on the call and point you elsewhere.

Why the proof looks different here
We are a small independent studio. Our published thinking is the portfolio: read the guides, and if the thinking holds up, the paid work is that thinking applied to your business.
Asked and answered
How much do branding services typically cost?
Branding services are priced by scope, not by hour, and fall into three bands: under $500 for DIY tools, $1,000 to $5,000 for a designed identity, and $5,000 and up for strategy, identity, and a marketing channel bought together. Marketing services are then sold either as a retainer or as fixed projects.
Two proposals at the same price can differ by an entire strategy phase, so compare the deliverables list before the number. Every package here is fixed-scope with the price published on the pricing page.
What is the 3-7-27 rule of branding?
It is a repetition heuristic: supposedly 3 exposures before a prospect notices a brand, 7 before they recall it, 27 before they see it as a leader. No published study supports the specific numbers. We flag it because service buyers are often quoted it as justification for a larger retainer.
The defensible version is simply that inconsistent presentation resets whatever count exists. That is an argument for a documented identity, which costs once, rather than for permanently higher ad spend.
Who are the big 4 in marketing?
In advertising and marketing the "big four" usually means the holding companies that own most large agencies: WPP, Omnicom, Publicis Groupe, and Interpublic Group. Some lists substitute Dentsu. They own hundreds of agency brands between them and sell to enterprise clients, not to small businesses.
The distinction matters because their published rate cards and case studies set expectations that make small-business quotes look suspiciously cheap. Different buyer, different economics; neither is a benchmark for the other.
What are the top branding agencies in New York City?
New York concentrates more branding firms than any other US market, from holding-company networks to independent studios of five people. There is no single ranking worth trusting: the published "top agency" lists are usually directories where placement is paid or self-submitted rather than judged.
If you are shopping locally, judge on the same four things anywhere: a named deliverables list, whether strategy is included, who actually does the work, and ownership terms for source files. KM Studio is a remote studio serving clients worldwide, so a New York agency may well be the right call for you; the agency vs freelancer comparison covers how to choose.
